Open an image for layer editing
Layer editing is included with Inref. Image editing supports up to 36 megapixels; board-level arrangement and drawing are separate tools.
- Select an unlocked image on the board.
- Right-click it and choose Edit image layers.
- Select the layer you want to work on in the layer list.
Build and edit layers
- Right-click the layer list and choose New Layer to add a blank layer, or New Layer from Image to import an image.
- Use Duplicate Layer before making an alternative version of a layer.
- Adjust the active layer’s opacity and blend mode, or use its visibility and lock controls.
- Choose Layer Style from a layer’s context menu to work with its supported effects.
- Use Create Clipping Mask to clip a layer to the base layer below; Release Clipping Mask removes that relationship.
Return to the board
Keyboard shortcuts depend on focus. For example, Ctrl+J duplicates a layer while the layer list has focus; the board uses that shortcut for Join.
- Review the composite and use Undo if you need to revise a change.
- Use the Finish editing image layers control in the layer panel to return to normal board editing.
- Save the .inref board to keep its editable layers. Export a PNG separately when you need a flattened image.
